Caleb Burns Discusses Governors in Tight Races This Midterm
Caleb P. Burns, a partner in Wiley Rein’s Election Law & Government Ethics Practice, was quoted in an article published today by Fox News about how a large number of incumbent U.S. governors who are up for reelection are in danger of being voted out of office. Mr. Burns pointed out that almost half of the governors in peril are Republicans in Democratic-leaning states who were voted in amid a GOP wave in 2010.
“It may simply be the wave is receding,” Mr. Burns said. “The Republican governors elected in 2010 might not be able to make a strong enough argument again to dispel constituents of their predispositions.”
