Megan Brown Discusses Cybersecurity Challenges for Broadcasters

TVNewsCheck
June 23, 2015

Megan L. Brown, a partner in Wiley Rein’s Telecom, Media & Technology and Cybersecurity practices, was quoted today in a TVNewsCheck article about cybersecurity challenges for broadcasters.

Cyber threats have increased with broadcasters’ use of Internet protocol technology, and the Federal Communications Commission is becoming more active in spurring broadcasters—and all communications companies—to take cybersecurity seriously, according to the article.

“The government expects everyone to be thinking about this,” Ms. Brown said. She noted that part of the problem is the speed with which cybersecurity threats have emerged on the radar screen of most broadcasters. “I think the approaches are still pretty nascent for most companies,” she said.
