Wiley Rein’s International Trade Practice Receives Top Honors from Chambers USA for Nine Years in a Row
For the ninth straight year, Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business ranks Wiley Rein’s International Trade Practice as one of the best in the country. Practice chair Alan H. Price and partners Charles Owen Verrill, Jr. and Timothy C. Brightbill are named “Leading Lawyers” in their field.
Chambers reports the practice is comprised of “experts in export controls, economic sanctions and CFIUS compliance.” Highlighted is the group’s defense of U.S. manufacturers against the rising number of low-cost imports from across the world. The directory singles out the firm’s representation of SolarWorld Industries America in challenging the import of Chinese solar cells and modules.
Sources tell the highly regarded directory that the group is “assertive and very responsive,” adding that “they came in with good documentation.”
Mr. Price is described as a “highly active adviser” and Chambers lauds his leadership role in the representation of clients such as Nucor Corporation and the Wind Tower Trade Coalition. Mr. Brightbill receives praise for his work in high-stakes matters from sources who say that “he was masterful in orchestrating the effort” and “was extremely responsive and precise.” The directory cites Mr. Verrill, the practice’s chairman emeritus, for his “long experience across a broad range of trade dispute and policy matters.”
The Chambers ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms’ clients, colleagues and competitors. Inclusion in the directory is determined through a rigorous vetting process.
