Impact of Recent U.S. Supreme Court Decisions on Patent Enforcement Explored in One-Day Conference at Wiley Rein
Wiley Rein will host a November 13 Bloomberg BNA conference on a range of patent enforcement issues addressed in recent decisions by the Supreme Court of the United States.
As more and more patent cases are decided by the Supreme Court, the complex issues at hand warrant in-depth analysis and discussion. Recovery of attorney fees, proving induced infringement, whether abstract ideas are patent ineligible, and the standard for determining indefiniteness have all been major components of recent decisions.
Patent Group chair James H. Wallace, Jr., will moderate a panel discussion on whether abstract ideas, business methods, and naturally occurring substances are patent ineligible. A second panel, moderated by partner Brian H. Pandya, will focus on recent rulings that have given trial courts more discretion to award attorney fees. Two other panels will be held, one on distributed infringement and the other on the standard for indefiniteness. The event will be held at Wiley Rein from 9AM – 4:30PM on Thursday, November 13 and requires advance registration.
