President Obama Issues Presidential Memorandum on UAS Privacy

On February 15, 2015, President Obama issued a much-anticipated Presidential Memorandum directing NTIA to convene a multistakeholder process to develop privacy rules for commercial and private uses of UAS. A brief summary of the Memorandum is available here. We expect NTIA will issue a notification and a request for public comments regarding a privacy framework in the next 90 days that also will invite parties to indicate interest in participating in the multistakeholder meetings.
