FCC Publishes Repeal of Radio Duplication Rule

As we have previously described, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) recently adopted an Order eliminating the so-called radio duplication rule, which prohibited more than 25% duplication of programming on commonly-owned stations operating in the same service with certain overlapping principal community contours.

The Order was published in the Federal Register on October 22, 2020, which means repeal of the rule (47 C.F.R. § 73.3556) became effective as of that date.
