Timothy Brightbill, a partner in Wiley Rein's International Trade Practice, was quoted discussing his involvement in the annual "Lawyers Have Heart" charity race and fun walk in a DC Bar article. Mr. Brightbill, along with approximately 5,200 other participants, took part in the June 11 event that helped raise $625,000 for the American Heart Association (AHA). Mr. Brightbill-who first got involved in the event 10 years ago-is captain of the Wiley Rein team which raised $5,500 and had more than 30 runners and walkers participate. Lawyers Have Heart is "a way for me to combine some pro bono fundraising efforts with my strong interest in running," he explained. "On a personal level, I have had friends and family members who have had heart-related health issues, so the AHA's role in preventing heart disease and educating the public is very important to me as well," Mr. Brightbill concluded.
