Michael Toner DISCLOSE Tweet Quoted by Politico
A tweet sent by Michael Toner, co-chair of Wiley Rein's Election Law & Government Ethics Practice, was quoted in a Politico story on the DISCLOSE Act.
Politico reported that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) voiced their continued support for the DISCLOSE Act, a measure that would require Super PACs, corporations, unions and individuals to disclose political expenditures of $10,000 or more, including the source of the funding. The DISCLOSE Act passed in the House in 2010 but failed in the Senate.
"The DISCLOSE Act is going nowhere this Congress; even if bill gets out of Senate (unlikely) it has zero chance in the House," tweeted Mr. Toner, a former Federal Election Commission chairman.
