Megan Brown Weighs In on Focus for Practitioners During FCC Shutdown

January 4, 2019

Megan L. Brown, partner in Wiley Rein’s Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT) and Privacy & Cybersecurity Practices, was quoted by Law360 in a January 3 article about what TMT practitioners plan to do after most of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) was closed January 3 due to the partial federal government shutdown.

Many attorneys and advisors are shifting their focus away from advocacy at the FCC and pivoting to compliance issues instead, said Ms. Brown. For her part, Ms. Brown said she will remain active working on data security and risk management issues and forecasting how Congress might act in those areas in the coming year.

“There is certainly no shortage of things to worry about in January,” said Ms. Brown.
