Michael Toner Comments on Campaign Finance in 2020 Presidential Election
Michael E. Toner, chair of Wiley’s Election Law & Government Ethics Practice, was quoted by Business Insider in a November 3 article about how campaigns were financed in the 2020 presidential race. The article addressed “11 burning money questions swirling around this election cycle” and the complex issues at stake.
“No rational person would have set up a campaign-finance system the way it is — it's a hodgepodge of laws and court rulings and FEC decisions,” said Mr. Toner, a former Federal Election Commission (FEC) chairman.
