Michael Toner Discusses Cruz’s Grassroots Delegate Recruitment Strategy
Michael E. Toner, co-chair of Wiley Rein’s Election Law & Government Ethics Practice, was quoted in an article published today in Financial Review about presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz’s effective grassroots political efforts to woo national convention delegates to support his candidacy.
Ahead of the Republican National Convention in July, Sen. Cruz has been using a sophisticated grassroots campaign to secure delegates not bound to any candidate, much to the chagrin of Mr. Trump.
“Cruz is really doing the grass roots politics well by working this process for months,” Mr. Toner said. “Donald Trump is way behind on that.”
