August 11, 2020

Megan L. Brown, partner in Wiley’s National Security, Privacy, Cyber & Data Governance, and Telecom, Media, & Technology practices, was featured in a discussion of “Breaking Down Section 889, The Biggest Compliance Change for Federal Contractors” in an August 11 podcast produced by Interos. The podcast series – What Lies Beneath – is hosted by Dr. Andrea Little Limbago, Vice President of Research and Analysis at Interos.

The podcast addresses how business can get ahead of the massive regulatory effort related to the implementation of Section 889, which forbids the government from contracting with companies who have telecom and surveillance equipment from five major Chinese companies in their supply chains.

Ms. Brown and Dr. Limbago are both Senior Fellows at the National Security Institute (NSI) at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. They recently co-authored an NSI Law and Policy Paper on “Techlash and National Security: The Need for U.S. Leadership on Privacy and Security.” A news release on the paper can be found here.
