Washington, DC - Thirteen Wiley Rein & Fielding attorneys in the firm's Communications, Election Law, Government Contracts, Insurance and International Trade practices have been rated among the region's and country's best in the 2006 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
Communications attorneys Richard E. Wiley, Lawrence W. Secrest, III and Andrew G. McBride are recognized for their expertise in the telecommunications, broadcast and satellite regulatory arena-a practice rated as Washington DC's best. Wiley, the firm's managing partner, is again atop the rankings, singled as the "star performer;" he also is recognized as a leading media and entertainment lawyer.
WRF's Election Law & Government Ethics Practice and its chair, Jan Witold Baran, receive top rankings in the political law arena. Rand L. Allen, chair of the firm's Government Contracts Practice, also receives top honors, and Scott M. McCaleb, a partner in the group whose experience extends across virtually all government contracting industries, is recognized among the nation's leading lawyers in his field.
Accolades extend to WRF's 40-attorney Insurance Practice, which is rated the top Washington, DC "insurer firm." Reflecting the breadth of the firm's insurance expertise, group chair Thomas W. Brunner and partners Laura A. Foggan, Theodore A. Howard, Daniel J. Standish and John C. Yang all are recognized as leading lawyers. These attorneys specialize in a wide range of insurance matters, including general liability and property coverage, professional liability, reinsurance, health care, federal and state regulation, transactions and insurance fraud.
The firm's International Trade Practice, previously recognized by Chambers as one of the country's "elite international trade practices," again is ranked among the country's best. Practice chair Charles Owen Verill, Jr. and partner John B. Reynolds, III are both named leading lawyers, notably for their work handling matters involving export controls and economic sanctions.
