Wiley Rein Promotes Six to Partner and Of Counsel
Wiley Rein is pleased to announce the election of four new partners and two new of counsel to the firm, effective January 1, 2010. Joining the partnership are William S. Consovoy, Adam H. Gordon, Brendon M. Pinkard and Dylan G. Trache. Promoted to of counsel are Thomas R. McCarthy and Cari N. Stinebower.
"These promotions reflect the notable and hard-earned achievements of a group of outstanding individuals," said Managing Partner Richard E. Wiley. "These lawyers have demonstrated exceptional dedication to the firm and its clients, and we congratulate each of them on this well-deserved accomplishment."
The Firm's Newest Partners:
William S. Consovoy returns to the firm's Communications Practice after completing a clerkship for Justice Clarence Thomas of the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Consovoy, who will assist clients with a variety of trial and appellate matters, also served as a clerk for the Honorable Edith H. Jones of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and as a clerk for the 17th Judicial Circuit of Virginia. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law.
Adam H. Gordon joined the firm's International Trade Practice as of counsel in 2009 and represents U.S. manufacturers, industries and agricultural groups in antidumping and countervailing duty matters before the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He received his J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University Law School.
Brendon M. Pinkard, formerly an associate in the Communications Practice, concentrates his practice on cable television, video, telecommunications and broadband matters. He has extensive experience in negotiating complex cable television franchises, designing and implementing advocacy strategies, and representing clients publicly before local governments. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School.
Dylan G. Trache, previously of counsel in the firm's Bankruptcy & Financial Restructuring Practice is board certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. He advises and counsels clients on corporate reorganizations, creditor's rights, commercial litigation and other matters related to corporate insolvency. Mr. Trache, who is resident in the firm's Northern Virginia office, graduated from The George Washington University Law School.
The Firm's Newest Of Counsel:
Thomas R. McCarthy, formerly an associate in the firm's Communications Practice, represents clients in litigation before federal and state trial and appellate courts and in proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission and other federal agencies. After graduating, magna cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law, he served as a law clerk for Judge David B. Sentelle of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and Judge Frank W. Bullock, Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
Cari N. Stinebower joined the firm's International Trade Practice after serving in the Office of the General Counsel (Office of Foreign Assets Control) of the U.S. Treasury Department. She counsels clients on compliance with U.S. economic sanctions, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and export controls, and assists clients to develop compliance programs, conduct anti-money laundering and OFAC risk assessments, conduct internal investigations and respond to government investigations. She received her J.D. from Washington College of Law, American University.
