Bert Rein a Featured Panelist for The National Law Journal’s Supreme Court Preview on September 13
Wiley Rein founding partner Bert W. Rein—widely recognized as a leading antitrust and commercial litigator and international lawyer—has been selected to take part in The National Law Journal panel discussion, “Sizing Up the Supreme Court,” on Thursday, September 13 at George Washington University Law School. The event, which previews important Supreme Court cases scheduled for argument in the upcoming term, will be held in the Jacob Burns Moot Courtroom at 3 p.m., followed by a cocktail reception at 5 p.m.
Tony Mauro, The National Law Journal’s award-winning Supreme Court correspondent, will moderate a lively discussion that provides insight into the nation’s high court. Mr. Rein will be joined on the panel by Latham & Watkins partner Gregory G. Garre, George Washington University Law School associate dean Alan B. Morrison and Jenner & Block partner Paul M. Smith.
Earlier this year, The National Law Journal named Mr. Rein to a select group of “Visionary” Washington attorneys who have “advanced the practice of law” with results that extend “far beyond the Beltway.” In selecting Mr. Rein, the publication reported he has “built a career as a classic Washington lawyer with a finger in antitrust, food and drug regulation, communications law, commercial litigation” and politics.
On behalf of Abigail Fisher, Mr. Rein will argue in October before the U.S. Supreme Court in Fisher v. University of Texas, in a constitutional challenge to the university's race-based admission policies.
