Wiley Rein’s Intellectual Property Practice Ranked Among DC’s Best by Chambers USA

May 29, 2013

Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business once again rates Wiley Rein as one of Washington, DC's best Trademark, Copyright & Trade Secrets firms. Copyright Group chair Bruce G. Joseph and Patent Group chair James H. Wallace, Jr. are named “Leading Lawyers” in their respective fields.

Sources tell Chambers that the firm’s attorneys “display sound commercial sense.” The directory comments that the group “has long been celebrated” for its experience in litigation of all kinds, noting that secondary liability disputes are a “forte.” Chambers cites the firm's “well regarded” patent litigation work, track record in copyright and trademark law and leading practice in representing licensees of digital music rights. The team's work with prominent pharmaceutical and communications companies is also highlighted in the directory.

Mr. Joseph is described by Chambers as a “renowned specialist in copyright protection and litigation matters.” The directory further notes he is “much sought after” for advice in matters regarding music recording licensing and protection, as well as digital content rights.

Mr. Wallace receives recognition for his work involving biotechnology, data transmission, pharmaceuticals and satellite communications. Sources say that he is “very professional, very well organized and on top of everything.”

The Chambers ratings are based on extensive interviews of law firms' clients, colleagues and competitors. Inclusion in the directory is determined through a rigorous vetting process.
