Edgar Class Elected President-Elect of Hispanic Bar Association of DC

January 16, 2015

Edgar Class, special counsel in Wiley Rein’s Communications Practice, was elected president-elect yesterday of the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia (HBA-DC).  The association—whose members include several hundred lawyers practicing in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia—is dedicated to advancing and developing Latinos in the legal profession.

Mr. Class, a member of Wiley Rein’s Diversity Committee, has served on the HBA-DC’s Board of Directors since 2013.  He also chaired the association’s Professional Development Committee, which organizes panel discussions, workshops and other programs to help Hispanic attorneys succeed in their careers and advance their education.

He is also a member of the Federal Communications Bar Association (FCBA), and has previously co-chaired its Diversity and Journal committees.  In 2012, Mr. Class was honored with the FCBA’s Distinguished Service Award, and was recognized by City Year Washington DC as an “Idealist of the Year.”

At Wiley Rein, Mr. Class represents clients in regulatory and transactional matters involving telecommunications services.  He has extensive experience with matters including Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licensing requirements, mergers and acquisitions, spectrum auctions, foreign ownership issues, Universal Service Fund reform, the E-rate and Lifeline programs, and disability access issues.
