Wiley Rein's "Top-Flight" Government Contracts Team Wins Law360's "Practice Group of the Year" Award

January 16, 2015

Washington, DC — Wiley Rein’s prominent Government Contracts Practice has been named a 2014 “Practice Group of the Year” by Law360 in one of the publication’s hallmark awards.  The group “proved to be an invaluable asset to the firm’s clients” and was commended for “standing out in a fiercely competitive legal field,” Law360 wrote in its January 15 profile.

Law360 cited the group’s work on high-profile bid protest wins, as well as its “essential” advisory services to CGI Federal, Inc., related to the rollout of the Affordable Care Act.  The article also noted the firm’s representation of The Boeing Company in a bid protest before the U.S. Government Accountability Office and federal courts related to a $4.2 billion NASA contract.

“Sometimes clients say to me that ‘We want your A-team,’ and I say, ‘We have multiple A-teams that can be led by people who are legitimately experts and leaders and have been recognized as such by clients and within the bar,’” Government Contracts Practice chair Rand L. Allen told the Law360.

Wiley Rein was among five law firms selected in the Government Contracts category by a panel of Law360 editors who received 683 submissions across 26 practice areas from around the nation.  Winners were selected based on the significance of the litigation wins or deals the group worked on, the size and complexity of those matters, and the number of significant, large, or complex deals handled or lawsuits won in the past year.
