Richard Wiley Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from The Media Institute
Richard E. Wiley, Chairman Emeritus, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Media Institute. The award was presented at the Institute’s annual “Free Speech America” Gala on October 29, 2024 in Washington, DC.
Wiley previously received Lifetime Achievement Awards from The National Law Journal and the Broadcasters Foundation of America for his contributions to the legal and communications industries. Wiley’s decades-long career includes serving as Chairman, Commissioner, and General Counsel at the Federal Communications Commission, and receiving an Emmy Award in recognition of his pivotal role in the development of HDTV in 1997.
The Media Institute is a nonprofit foundation specializing in communications and First Amendment policy. Wiley serves as The Media Institute’s Board Chairman.
