Wiley Rein Attorneys Named Law360 ‘Rising Stars’ for Telecommunications, Government Contracts

July 17, 2017

Washington, DC Law360 has named Wiley Rein LLP partners Megan L. Brown and John R. Prairie to its 2017 “Rising Stars” list in their respective practice areas of Telecommunications and Government Contracts. The highly competitive annual award recognizes attorneys under the age of 40 who have demonstrated outstanding career accomplishments in their individual fields of law.

Ms. Brown is a standout partner in the firm’s preeminent Telecom, Media and Technology (TMT) Practice. She represents corporations and industries in complex litigation and regulatory proceedings and develops compliance strategies under a variety of statutes, including the federal Communications Act, as well as the U.S. Constitution. Ms. Brown counsels major players in the wireless, Internet, and technology industry – including entrants into the “Internet of Things” (IoT) area – developing strategies to address complex privacy and cybersecurity issues. She has won several important cases of first impression, and has helped telecom providers anticipate and respond to federal and state regulation. Ms. Brown has significant government experience, having served as a senior official at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Mr. Prairie is a key member of Wiley Rein’s highly regarded Government Contracts Practice, which was named a “Practice Group of the Year” by Law360 for the third time earlier this year. His practice includes a range of litigation, counseling, and transactional matters for clients that work with federal, state, and local governments. Mr. Prairie advocates on behalf of contractors in bid protests, contract claims and disputes, terminations, mergers and acquisitions, False Claims Act matters, and suspension and debarment proceedings. He represents a wide array of organizations that do business with the federal government – including some of the largest defense contractors in the world in high-stakes bid protest and claims litigation.

Editors at Law360 reviewed more than 1,200 nominations from more than 75 law firms before selecting the final list of “Rising Stars” spanning 35 practice areas.
