Wiley Rein Victory on Behalf of Professional Liability Insurer Draws Media Coverage

February 8, 2018

Wiley Rein secured an important victory on behalf of a professional liability insurer, when a federal district court in Puerto Rico ruled that the firm’s client and its co-defendants did not owe $20 million in insurance coverage to a policyholder for numerous investor claims filed after the collapse of the Puerto Rican bond market. The Wiley Rein team on this case includes partners Kimberly M. Melvin, Cara Tseng Duffield, and John E. Howell, and associates Karen L. Toto and Emily S. Hart.

Law360 covered the February 1 ruling, in which the court granted the insurers’ motion for summary judgment in its entirety and dismissed the case. The Law360 article can be found here (subscription required).
