Wiley Rein’s Kathleen Kirby to Chair ABA/FCBA ‘Local Broadcaster’ Program in Las Vegas During NAB’s 2017 Annual Conference
Washington, DC—Kathleen A. Kirby, co-chair of Wiley Rein’s Telecom, Media & Technology (TMT) Practice, will serve as chair for the 36th Annual “Representing Your Local Broadcaster: A 360° View” program, organized by the American Bar Association and the Federal Communications Bar Association in conjunction with the National Association of Broadcasters’ annual conference. The all-day program will be held on Sunday, April 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Encore Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In addition, Wiley Rein TMT lawyer Ari Meltzer will speak on an 11:15 a.m. panel that examines the FCC’s post-auction repack and use of the next-generation broadcast transmission standard, ATSC 3.0.
The event will feature five panels of experts throughout the day who will address a panoramic view of the legal, regulatory, and political landscape facing broadcasters in light of the new Administration, a Republican-controlled Congress, and a deregulatory FCC Chairman. Speakers include a broad range of prominent legal and technical specialists from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), private practice, national and local broadcasters, and wireless and social media providers, as well as journalists.
